Unlocking learning in bite-sized brilliance
Microlearning is an innovative approach to training complex material, meticulously designed to avoid cognitive overload and provide the opportunity for better comprehension and retention. My unique approach involves breaking down intricate topics, like challenging interactions with customers, into small, digestible doses, ensuring that learners can absorb and effectively transfer skills to real-life scenarios. This method enhances engagement and maximizes learning outcomes for even the most challenging subjects.

AI-Powered Personal Finance Microlearning
This microlearning project, created for Rumie, helps young adults learn practical ways to use AI to manage their personal finances more effectively. It provided an opportunity to design concise, learner-centered content that demonstrates how AI can support everyday financial tasks while encouraging critical thinking, privacy awareness, and responsible decision-making.
Challenge: Many young adults are interested in using AI for financial management but are unsure how to apply it safely and effectively for tasks such as budgeting, saving, debt management, and financial planning.
Solution: Developed an interactive microlearning experience that introduces four practical applications of AI for personal finance through realistic scenarios, guided prompts, reflective activities, knowledge checks, and actionable takeaways that learners can immediately apply.
Tools Used: Rumie Byte Builder
Results: Effectiveness was measured through learner engagement, completion rates, quiz performance, and learner feedback, demonstrating the module's ability to increase learners' confidence in using AI as a practical tool for everyday financial decision-making.

Bite-Sized Career Support: Instructional Design Interview Preparation
This microlearning project, created for Rumie, helps aspiring instructional designers prepare for common interview questions and communicate their skills with confidence. It allowed me to design concise, learner-centered content that supports career readiness and just-in-time interview preparation.
Challenge: New instructional designers often struggle to articulate their skills and experiences during interviews, particularly when discussing analysis, design processes, learner engagement, assessment, and evaluation.
Solution: Developed an interactive microlearning experience that guides learners through seven common instructional design interview questions using practical examples, expert guidance, knowledge checks, and immediate feedback.
Tools Used: Rumie Byte Builder
Results: Effectiveness was measured through learner engagement, completion rates, quiz performance, and learner feedback, providing accessible, on-demand support for aspiring instructional designers preparing for job interviews.

Bite-sized impact: Stress Management in the Workplace
Among my favorite projects is a microlearning series focused on stress management in office-based work environments. This initiative addresses a critical skill in today’s high-pressure workplaces, where sustained cognitive load and competing demands can impact employee well-being and performance. It allowed me to demonstrate my ability to design learning that is audience-appropriate, highly accessible, and optimized for multiple platforms, including desktop and mobile, ensuring all staff can engage with these tools when and where they are most needed.
Challenge: Rising levels of workplace stress, declining performance, and increased turnover among staff in office-based roles.
Solution: A series of microlearning sessions to helps professionals manage stress in high-demand work environments by addressing cognitive, workload, and physical strategies that support performance and well-being. Delivered through concise, scenario-informed modules, and designed for on-demand use, the series functions as just-in-time performance support during periods of peak workload.
Tools Used: Vyond, iMovie
Results: Effectiveness was measured through completion rates, observed skill transfer in the workplace, changes in stress-related behaviors, performance indicators, and turnover trends.

Designing for retention and results
When employers review my microlearning work, the most crucial skill I want them to recognize is my ability to accurately identify a problem and then design an effective training intervention. This involves skillfully breaking down complex concepts into digestible chunks of learning that are perfectly audience-appropriate. This strategic approach ensures high retention, seamless skill transfer, and ultimately, a better return on investment ROI for their training initiatives.
